History and Values

Destilerías San Valero is a second-degree cooperative of the cooperative wineries of Aragon, and as such its philosophy places the figure of the farmer at the heart of everything it does.

Every bottle of Vínica belongs to those farmers and returns to them as encouragement to continue their work, which is constantly committed. We want to give those winegrowers back a sense of pride and belonging to a cooperative project that has been running in the region for nearly 70 years.

Destilerías San Valero

Founded in 1957 by a group of local cooperative wineries, Destilerías San Valero was established to add value to the by-products of the wine industry, making circular economy its raison d'etre from its very inception.

Throughout this time, in addition to contributing to the environment and the sustainability of wine production, Destilerías San Valero has become a national and international benchmark in the production of alcohols, distillates and spirits for the most important companies in the market. Today, countless premium alcohol brands and products use our company’s extraordinarily high-quality alcohol as their base ingredient.

Cariñena: land of wine, spirits and liqueurs

With Vínica, we want to honour and respect the tradition of crafting spirits and liqueurs that have been so important in Cariñena, transforming all that experience and knowledge into a drink that transports us to that fervent, centuries-old distilling heritage.

Our values

Sustainability

A deep respect for the environment and a strong commitment to sustainability from the very beginning make this company a model of circular economy. Its philosophy, values and projects always stem from these principles.

Today, when sustainable development is championed and society is aware of the importance of environmental conservation, DSV carries out a crucial environmental role: it acts as a true environmental manager of the wine by-products from Aragon’s wineries, valorising these materials, diversifying the products of its management, and returning nutrients from its member farmers back to the ecosystem to restore ecological balance.

Social

Destilerías San Valero actively participates in international cooperation projects that support cooperative companies and agri-food associations in Latin America. In these projects, companies like ours are helped to improve so that they can continue to develop the great social work they carry out.

In this regard, we have participated alongside ACODEA in missions in Colombia, Nicaragua, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.

Responsible consumption

Destilerías San Valero recommends the moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages and proposes a consumption model centred on quality gastronomy and the use, but not abuse, of products that are harmful to our health if not enjoyed in moderation.
