Cookie Policy
- GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE USE OF COOKIES
- WHAT COOKIES ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN BE USED FOR
Cookies are small files that, when you access a website, can be configured so you can continue browsing or for different purposes. They can be set to obtain information from the user and/or device used and may be configured for the following purposes:
1) improve navigation;
2) improve user experience while browsing the website;
3) for statistical purposes regarding service usage, including analysis of user behaviour and/or page visits;
4) analyse user activity within the page through their web browsing;
5) make offers about products or services that may be of interest based on browsing behaviour;
6) profile the person accessing the page;
7) capture more intrusive data such as all data relating to purchases through the websites, your buying habits, payment methods, and your purchasing preferences.
Cookies, as explained, can capture data about people; in that moment, Data Protection regulations must apply. Once users are identified, certain cookies can profile them and are most often used for commercial and advertising purposes by website owners or their linked third parties.
- WHERE COOKIES ARE STORED
Cookies are stored on the user’s device and often save website settings, such as the language used, connection hardware, operating system, and in some cases, location.
- TYPES OF COOKIES:
- If we differentiate them by purpose:
Technical cookies: allow the user to navigate through a website, programme or device, and customise navigation options. They can control traffic and data communication, identify the session, access restricted areas, remember and auto-fill sales forms, analyse and prepare the purchase process, manage payment, control fraud linked to service security, register for events, count visits for software licence billing, use security elements during navigation, store content for video or sound delivery, enable dynamic content (e.g. text or image loading animation) or share content via social networks.
Preference or personalisation cookies: store data so the user can access the service with particularities that distinguish their experience. This may include preferred language, number of search results displayed, appearance or content adapted to the browser used, or region from which the service is accessed, among others.
Statistics, analysis or measurement cookies: enable the owner to track and analyse user behaviour on linked websites, including measuring advertising impact. The information obtained is used to evaluate activity in the websites, applications or platforms, with the purpose of implementing improvements based on usage analysis.
Behavioural advertising cookies: store information on user behaviour obtained through continuous observation of browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display targeted advertising.
All data collected by these cookies require compliance with the applicable legitimacy, in this case informed consent for collection and subsequent processing.
- Looking at the entity managing the domain we can distinguish first-party or third-party cookies.
First-party cookies: sent to the user’s terminal from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: sent to the user’s terminal from a device or domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
Note that if cookies are supplied from a device or domain managed by the publisher, but the information collected is administered by a third party with different objectives, these cookies cannot be classified as first-party. This happens when the third party uses cookies for purposes such as improving services or providing advertising services for other entities.
- Lastly, focusing on the storage period in the user’s browser, we differentiate session cookies from persistent cookies.
Session cookies: designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. Used to store information that only needs to be kept for the provision of the service requested in a single session (e.g. a list of purchased products) and disappear at the end of the session.
Persistent cookies: data remains stored on the terminal and may be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie owner, ranging from minutes to years. There is an obligation to notify users of data retention.
- DO WE USE COOKIES ON OUR WEBSITE?
This website uses cookies; some are necessary or technical cookies that allow the website to function and enable user navigation. We also use other types of cookies, detailed in ANNEX I, with their purposes, legitimacy, retention period, and instructions for deletion. All necessary information is provided transparently.
- USER LEGITIMACY ON THE WEBSITE
Pursuant to Art. 22 LSSI: “Service providers may use storage and data retrieval devices on recipients’ terminal equipment, provided they have given their consent after being given clear and complete information on their use, in particular regarding the purposes of data processing, in accordance with Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December (now Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December) on Personal Data Protection.”
When technically possible and effective, the recipient’s consent for data processing may be provided by means of appropriate browser settings or other applications, provided the recipient configures them during installation or update through an express action. The above will not prevent technical storage or access for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network or, to the extent strictly necessary, for the provision of an information society service expressly requested by the recipient. Always in relation to current Data Protection regulations and the lawfulness of data processing, regulated in art. 6 of EU Regulation 679/2016.
