Interview with Alberto Arellano and Luis Cebrián

In this interview for the CMG Awards by Heraldo de Aragón, we spoke with Alberto Arellano, Managing Director of Destilerías San Valero, and Luis Alberto Cebrián, President of the company. They tell us how Vínica was born — a gin crafted from Aragonese Garnacha wine.

The product has been recognised as Product of the Year for its combination of winemaking tradition, innovation and commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.

Awards 'Con Mucho Gusto' 2025

Vínica, recognised for its innovation and connection with Aragón

In July, the Abba Huesca hotel hosted a new edition of the ‘Con Mucho Gusto’ Awards by Heraldo de Aragón, where Vínica was honoured for its commitment to innovation, wine tourism and Aragonese identity.

The event brought together more than 100 guests and offered tastings of local products such as cheeses, pickles and craft beer. Vínica shared the spotlight with other outstanding projects including Vignerons, Pasteleros Artesanos de Huesca and Carmelo Bosque.

A sustainable cocktail with Gin Vínica

During the International Garnacha Festival, held in Zaragoza, Gin Vínica took centre stage in a demonstration organised by the Asociación de Maîtres y Barmans de Aragón.

A live Collins de Berries cocktail with Gin Vínica was prepared, highlighting the fusion of creativity, local produce and sustainability. The event showcased the versatility of this gin and its connection with Aragonese gastronomy.

Patxi Troitiño explores new formulas with Gin Vínica

At the Salon de Profesionales de la Hostelería de Aragón (SAPHA), bartender Patxi Troitiño (Akelarre) gave a masterclass centred on Gin Vínica.

During the session, innovative cocktails and contemporary techniques were developed that integrate Aragonese identity. It was an educational experience for bartenders and hospitality professionals, where tradition and cutting-edge craft went hand in hand.

A new way to enjoy gin

The first edition of DIVINO Festival was held at the Santuario de la Virgen de Lagunas, where Gin Vínica presented the ‘Pomada Aragonesa’, a proposal designed for an environment of music, culture and nature.

The event featured performances by artists including Sho-Hai, Queralt Lahoz, Miss Bolivia and electronic music collectives, creating a sensory and festive experience centred on Aragonese gin.

The cocktails featuring Vínica were crafted by the Umalas Cocktails team, renowned in Zaragoza for their creativity and innovative approach. It was a gathering that blended tradition, avant-garde spirit and festivity.

On 30 June, Gin Vínica was present at Bar Convent London 2025, one of the leading international gatherings in the drinks industry.

In addition to exploring emerging trends, the team shared the brand’s story and values with professionals from around the world. The next stop is BCB Berlin, to continue this journey of growth and innovation.
